Hi everyone ! I'm here to tell you everything about the current state of the game . As you probably saw , I've overhauled the old character gfx and the objective's gfx . Compared to the previous build , now looks more like a proper Beta Build ;)) . I went with some minimalistic pixel art as the primary art style of the game . This mainly allows me to keep to my schedule since it's easier to produce . Not gonna lie , took a bit of inspiration from the art style found in WorldBox for anyone that is aware of that masterpiece of a game .
Here's a close look to the new characters . Say hi ! ;)
I've tried my best to yield some minimalistic yet beautiful gfx for those characters . Now we have not only skeletons but also humans .
In the sample image , they are ordered based on their category :
- Brute Unit
- Soldier Unit
- Archer Unit
Also I've created new effects to spice-up the action . Here you'll see the new hit effects :
As I mentioned previously , the objective also received some love
Let me also quickly go trough some other changes :
- Camera animation for winning / losing (losing : camera will zoom on your last unit when killed / winning : camera will zoom on the objective)
- Improved spawning behaviour of player's units and enemy's units
- Added gfx for arrow projectiles
- Improved the Talents (Power-ups) scaling : changed from true-values to percentages
- Added a coins counter that shows up on the left-side of the screen that indicates the amount of coins you've just made
Bug fixes :
- Fixed a bug with the transition between scenes where it would not scale properly when using some aspect ratios
- Fixed the archer's aim inaccuracy (more like total failure of the aim)
- Fixed an issue where the Swift Talent (Max move speed) would cause zoomies for the soldier units (kinda fun but op)
- Fixed an issue where the Talent Select Screen would appear even after the game finished (lose or win)
